We had a wonderful day today. At the office at our usual 8am. But at 1:30 we walked down to the stake center which is just 1/2 block away down the hill from the mission office. They started lining us up for a mission picture. 230 missionaries there for the pic. Thankfully they sat us seniors down on chairs to begin with. Then it was getting the other 200 people situated so that they could see everyone. I can't imagine that it will turn out, but we will see.

We then walked quietly into the chapel and up to the front to shake hands with Elder Russell M. Nelson and his wife and our mission president and his wife. You could have heard a pin drop. We were all seated and the chapel was full of missionaries and the overflow was full of members who had driven missionaries to the conference.

It is always exciting to sing with a group of missionaries. They really sing! None of the kind that you hear at Sacrament meeting. This is powerful. Everyone is singing with all their heart.

Sister Nelson gave a wonderful talk. Said she wished she could pull out our premortal DVD and truly see ourselves premortally. Who we stood by.......Jesus Christ, the covenants we made. If we could look at that premortal DVD for 10 minutes, we would rise up as the true sisters and elders that we are and never look back. She talked about pre mortal stirrings. The feeling we have when we meet some people and instead of saying glad to meet you, we should probably say, so great to see you again.

She also said---when the Spirit teaches you something, write it down. She wishes that we all had a 'things to do list while you are on earth' attached to our spirits. We have low grade unhappiness if we are not doing what is on the list.

Elder Nelson really involved the missionaries in his talk. Asked them questions and make then come up the the pulpit to give him answers. 'What do you know today that you didn't know before you came on your mission, about what happened in this area? There is a lot of church history here. D&C 57 and 58. D&C 121-123. And how about D&C 116. And we have been there and seen where it happened.

He also said to several young people-----I am not a member of the church, why should I listen to you? The best answers were those about having a way to make you and your family happy now and forever and telling people about Jesus Christ and his plan of happiness for us. Whenever the missionary said Jesus Christ, you could feel a difference in whatever else they said. It was pretty powerful.

So it was a wonderful afternoon. All those missionaries and some that we will never know. Even the Elders don't get to know everyone in their mission. Crazy huh!

A good day that made us grateful to be here and partake of such blessings and the sweet spirit that we felt.
