More of the Sunday afternoon photo shoot! These are churches that I could walk to in 15 minutes from the mission office. All of them are break-offs from our original church. There are actually about 150 churches that have formed from the original. I am trying to make a collection of as many as I can find.

This is one of the first and was organized by a man named Heddrekite, I think that is how you spell it.

They have a church that we have been into and also own the Temple Site. They think that we are silly to be building temples. They own the original Temple Site and you can read what they say about a temple. We believe that someday this lot will be ours and that we will build a temple here.

Just down the street is the Church of Jesus Christ. Have not been in there, but you see the sign.

This is their all white church.

Another just down the street. The popular name is probably Outreach Restoration Branch.

This is their all white church.

Another within walking distance.

Another very close to where we first lived when we came here. In a very poor, run down part of town. It never looks very used.

We pass this every day on our morning walk.

Once again, I kind of like the stone wall and stairs leading up to it.
So that is five of the 150 and all still cling to some of the original teachings, but most have adapted to their own ways and beliefs.
The missionaries are still working hard and sending in their baptism sheets. We are growing out here where most of the other churches are not. In fact, they are dwindling.
All is Well.

Is it possible for me to do two pics tonight?

On the way to church on Sunday, I was looking down a street and said that on the way home we had to go look at a house. This is it.
As we passed it on the way, I said that it looked like an old barn made into a home. And I think that I am right. Look at that stone foundation. There are lots of homes and fences around here made of different kinds of stone. Lots of limestone for one thing. But that foundation looks so old and then ............
here we have the front of the house. Looks like an old barn to me! I love it. The more I see, the more I love old things.
That's it! (more tomorrow nite. Our ride home from church took about an hour on Sunday, because we did kind of a picture shoot all along the way.)

I really think I am getting way to old to blog. I have tried the last two nights and it did not work for me. Now tonight it does. I do not know the names of all the new gadgets. Cell phone is about as far as I can go and mine is nearly an antique. On Saturday I went to work to try and get my Feedback done. That is a list that I send to the missionaries of their referrals for any number of months. I could not figure out how to print out the labels I needed to mail it to them. I have done it many times, but the program had been changed some and I could not make it work. And then when I printed the feedback it was some sort of computer/digital language. I don't know what it was, but just letters and symbols, etc. Yes, I was in tears and just went home.

So back to my digital camera, I believe it is called. I do know how to take lots of pics and I do that well. It is fun to take a pic over and over and then delete some of them. So here are my latest signs of fall.

How do you like these gold and reds?

Another view of the golds and red.

Close up view of the red leaves. Amazing how you have to go back and back again to get the right lighting.

This is a little bush out in front of the office. I really am drawn to bushes and trees with red berries. I just love them.

Kind of pretty out of the car window on the way to church!

The parking lot at work with the red tree in the distance and then a close up of a tree with those darn little red berries on it.
Worked OK tonight, now I just might try again tomorrow night.
Love to all.

Just a couple of pics under the glass on Dad's desktop.

That is Maggie holding on for dear life as she giggles her little head off! And Mason/Ben holding all of his guns, swords, and who knows what else in the waist of his pants. Doesn't really matter that we have never even seen Maggie ourselves, but these you 19-21 year old Elders come over to Dad's desk and he shows them his grandkids. Like they could be interested!

And then up in another spot, a sleeping Ben/Mason. So sweet. Nothing like a sleeping child. They are truly angelic.

Love and we miss you everyday.

OK, now for the rest of the story! This is the beginning of the bonfire. He went around and poured gas all over it and made a little trail out and then lit it.

See the trail of gas out to the right of the pic. Wow, did it burn in a hurry.

Here the pile is pretty much engulfed.

This is Dad and Elder Bouy and Dale Christensen. He lives in St. Joseph and drives 1 1/2 hours to get to work. Has I think, seven or eight kids and they lived in a single wide trailer for a lot of years while they were building their house. We walked into the house and his wife had fixed 6 big trays of enchiladas with all the trimmings, chips, pumpkin pies. There were people all over. Some eating outside, some inside. Just one of those homes who welcome everyone and she cooks for everyone. Dale reminds me so much of my cousin Keith. Lots of you remember Keith and I got a little teary as I watched Dale and thought of my wonderful cousin. He was riding around on an ATV and put Dad on it and took he for a ride up the hill. Dad loved it. He is full of fun and goodness and just wants everyone to enjoy it all.

This is the full fire. It was huge. Amazing how quickly it burned things up. There were a bunch of tires on the bottom and they were on fire in no time. It was quite an experience. We kept moving back because it was so hot. Just never know what you are going to experience on the mission.
Love you everyday.

Greetings! Our activity last Friday night was a FALL bonfire. And I guess the program is changed because I am not able to load more than 5 pics. I try and do some more and it will not accept them. So this is the end of the presentation.

The fire was in the middle of lots of trees which he didn't care if they burned up. This was quite a sight. Looked like Christmas lights up and down each twig of the tree.

The fire contained all sorts of things. Old mattresses and box springs from the mission and some old furniture that had been growing mold! Lots of tree trimmings, big spools, etc.

Dad with the flashlight on his face. A little Halloweenie!

And me with the light. Not quite as dramatic.

The fire is beginning to burn down. We had to stand 50 yards away from the fire when it was at it's peak. Quite beautiful.

OK, some more of my pics of how I view FALL. I really love it. The temperature, the muted colors, the contrast of colors, the crunchy leaves on the ground to smash, the hot chocolate to sip, feeling cozy under a blanket, it is so good.

As I drive along I look at the trees and colors and stop the car and jump out and snap a pic. I have had fun and I am sure people are wondering what is going on. Dad will drop me off on the corner and drive down the street as I get my pics and then come pick me up.

This was a fun one. I was driving alone. I parked the car and walked up onto the driveway so I could get the sun up top! Kind of cool huh?

This is the wreath that I made for our front door. I like it.

Just a cool tree with greens, golds, and reds all together.
New secretary in the office today! Yes, she just jumped in and we are tryiing to plug holes and mend fences. Lots and lots of errors have occurred and so now we must try and get things back the way they should be. I spent all of today helping Sister Hansen. Didn't even look at my work and got my mail forwarded out at 7pm tonight. It is a little crazy!
Today is 1 November. Yippee.
