OK, it is 1 February. YES! We got up this morning thinking there would be inches of snow on the ground. There was very little. So off we went to work even though most other people did not. Even the VC (Visitors Center) was closed today. First time we have seen that happen. They don't close for anything except what they are calling the Blizzard of 2011. It was snowing when we left just before 8 and it snowed hard all day. Finally at 1:30 we decided that it was enough and we wanted to get safely home. So we have been inside all afternoon peeking out occasionally watching the snow come in at a vertical angle. That is the biggest problem. The wind and drifting of the snow. I snapped some photos late this afternoon.

Can I help you see this pic. It is looking out the front door of the building where we step up one step and enter through the door. You can see where I pushed the door open and put my yardstick in to measure the drift. It formed a ridge along the front and it measured 9" high. Just saw a pic on TV where they opened the front door and the drift covered the entire opening of the door.

This is one of the cars straight out. The wind was blowing right to left and so there is no snow on the car, but look at the side of the car. Wierd! There was more then 12 inches coming off the side of the car.

Tonight we are thankful for a warm apartment and no phone calls from missionaries. The missionaries were told to stay in today. And either they have or else they were very careful.

Love you every day.
